"Shon has come to help twice with two different issues I have had with my gas lines for my fire pit. Shon is trustworthy. It took me a couple months to finally call a plumber for issue #1. When issue #2 came up (completely different item), I text him that day, and he was out 2 days later and fixed it, just nice to have someone you can trust. He just did some work at a friends house and they said the experience was the same."

The weekend before Thanksgiving my wife noticed the smell of gas coming from the cabinet next to the stove. We called the gas company who came out and confirmed that we had a leak. The gas company was unable to fix the leak and let us know we needed to have a plumber come out. In the meantime they would need to shut off the gas to the stove until it was fixed. A friend had recently used Pallan Plumbing and highly recommended that we give them a call. Shon from Pallan Plumbing replied promptly and was able to get out to our house on Tuesday. He showed up on time and was very knowledgable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and was able to resolve the leak with minimal disruption to the surrounding cabinetry. Pallan Plumbing saved our Thanksgiving, and for that I highly recommend them for any plubming needs!

Our Yard Drainage Service Process
Our process is such that we address the root cause of your yard drainage problems, not just the symptoms.
Step 1: Site Inspection & Evaluation
- We inspect your property's topography, soil composition, existing drainage, and problem areas. This step is necessary to determine the best drainage solution for your needs.
Step 2: Custom Drainage Plan
- No two properties are the same, so we create a unique drainage plan that considers numerous factors.
Step 4: Testing & Adjustments
- After installation, we thoroughly test the system. Any necessary adjustments are made to optimize performance.
Step 3: Drainage System Installation
- Based on our assessment, we implement the most effective drainage solution. This may include: French drains – Subsurface drainage to redirect water away from problem areas; Catch basins and channel drains - Surface drainage solutions for driveways, patios, and low spots; Grading and swales – Land re-sloping to naturally guide water runoff; Dry wells and sump pumps – Additional measures for properties with heavy water retention.
Step 5: Walkthrough & Maintenance Guidance
- We provide homeowners and property managers with maintenance recommendations to keep the drainage system functioning effectively for years to come.
Experiencing These Yard Drainage Issues? Here’s What They Mean
Standing Water After Rainfall
If water lingers in your yard long after rainfall, it could be due to poor soil drainage, improper grading, or clogged drains.
Water Pooling Near Foundations
Water accumulating near your home’s foundation is often a sign of downspout issues, a negative slope, or an inadequate drainage system.
Erosion or Washed-Out Landscaping
Excessive runoff can strip away soil and damage landscaping, often resulting from improper slopes or a lack of erosion control.
Muddy, Unusable Lawn
A constantly soggy lawn that never fully dries out may be caused by compacted soil, clay-heavy ground, or insufficient drainage.
Water Seeping Into Basement or Crawl Space
Water intrusion into basements or crawl spaces is typically linked to hydrostatic pressure, foundation cracks, inadequate exterior drainage, or some similar drainage problem.
Common Yard Drainage Problems We Fix
Poor Grading & Improper Water Flow
- Possible Causes: Incorrect slope, compacted soil, or poor landscape design can cause water to pool in low areas or against foundations.
- Solution: We reshape the landscape, adjust grading, and create proper runoff patterns.
French Drain & Subsurface Drainage Installation
- Possible Causes: Persistent water accumulation in low-lying areas can lead to soggy yards and foundation damage.
- Solution: French drain installation, dry wells, and subsurface drainage systems redirect excess water and prevent water logging.
Gutter & Downspout Drainage Issues
- Possible Causes: Clogged gutters, short downspouts, or improper placement can direct water towards your home's foundation.
- Solution: We clean, extend, and reroute downspouts to channel water safely away from your property.
Driveway & Hardscape Drainage Solutions
- Possible Causes: Poorly designed hardscapes, blocked drains, or impermeable surfaces can cause pooling of water on driveways, patios, and walkways.
- Solution: We install trench drains, channel drains, and permeable pavers to improve drainage and reduce erosion risks.
Soggy Lawns & Saturated Soil
- Possible Causes: Heavy clay soil, compacted ground, or inadequate drainage.
- Solution: We implement soil aeration, install dry wells, and improve drainage channels to boost water absorption.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does yard drainage impact landscaping and plant health?
When water accumulates in one area, it can drown plant roots, causing unhealthy growth or even plant death. Proper lawn drainage is the way to make sure your plants get the right amount of water while preventing root rot.
What is the difference between surface drainage and subsurface drainage?
Surface drains manage water that collects on the ground’s surface, like channel drains and gutters. Subsurface drainage, such as French drains, works to remove water that accumulates beneath the soil. Both are highly important for maintaining a dry yard, but they address different aspects of drainage.
How long does it take to install a yard drainage system?
The installation time depends on the complexity of the problem and the type of drainage system required. A basic system may take just a day, while more extensive projects could take a few days to a week. Our team works efficiently to minimize disruption to your property.
How do I prevent my drainage system from freezing in winter?
To prevent freezing, your system must have an adequate slope to avoid water stagnation, and insulate exposed pipes or yard drain. If you have a sump pump, check if it’s equipped with a backup power source during winter storms.
