"The weekend before Thanksgiving my wife noticed the smell of gas coming from the cabinet next to the stove. We called the gas company who came out and confirmed that we had a leak. The gas company was unable to fix the leak and let us know we needed to have a plumber come out. In the meantime they would need to shut off the gas to the stove until it was fixed. A friend had recently used Pallan Plumbing and highly recommended that we give them a call. Shon from Pallan Plumbing replied promptly and was able to get out to our house on Tuesday. He showed up on time and was very knowledgeable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and was able to resolve the leak with minimal disruption to the surrounding cabinetry. Pallan Plumbing saved our Thanksgiving, and for that I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs!"

Shon has come to help twice with two different issues I have had with my gas lines for my fire pit. Shon is trustworthy. It took me a couple months to finally call a plumber for issue #1. When issue #2 came up (completely different item), I text him that day, and he was out 2 days later and fixed it, just nice to have someone you can trust. He just did some work at a friends house and they said the experience was the same.

Process
Our Gas Leak Detection Process
Our gas leak detection process is thorough, precise, and backed by years of professional plumbing expertise.
Initial Assessment & Safety Check
When we arrive, first we evaluate the property, checking for signs of leaks such as odor, sound, or visible damage to gas lines. Immediate safety measures are implemented if there is an active leak, including ventilation and gas supply shutoff if necessary.
Advanced Gas Leak Detection Methods
We use specialized natural gas detectors, infrared imaging, and pressure testing to find the exact location of leaks. Leak detection techniques vary based on the gas type, system setup, and property structure.
Professional Gas Line Repairs
Our team performs expert repairs using high-quality materials and techniques. We follow local codes to meet all safety regulations.
Diagnosis & Repair Plan
Once we locate the leak, we determine whether it requires minor sealing, pipe replacement, or a system overhaul. We provide a transparent explanation of the issue and discuss the best repair options to restore safety.
Final Testing & Preventive Measures
After repairs, we conduct pressure tests and safety inspections to verify that the issue is fully resolved.
Experiencing These Gas Leakage Issues? Here’s What They Mean
Natural gas leaks can present themselves in different ways, and each sign points to a specific problem:
Rotten Egg Smell
Natural gas is odorless, but utility companies add a sulfur-like scent to detect leaks. A strong odor near gas appliance or gas lines often signals a leak.
Hissing or Whistling Sounds
If you hear a hissing noise near a gas pipe, meter, or appliance, it usually indicates a pressurized leak requiring urgent attention.
Dead or Dying Vegetation
Plants dying in a specific area of your yard with no other explanation can be a sign of an underground toxic gas leak affecting soil oxygen levels.
Unexplained Health Symptoms
Headaches, dizziness, nausea, or difficulty breathing inside your home or business can be the result of gas exposure and should never be ignored.
Higher Than Normal Gas Bills
A sudden spike in gas usage without any change in consumption habits may indicate a potential gas leak somewhere in your system.
If you notice any of these warning signs, you have to shut off the gas supply (if safe to do so), evacuate the area, and call a professional immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a gas leak detection inspection take?
A typical gas leak detection inspection can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on the size of the property and the complexity of the gas system. The process involves a thorough check of gas lines, appliances, and systems. We will give you an estimated timeline once we begin our inspection.
Will my gas utility company fix the leak if they detect it during a routine inspection?
If a gas leak is detected during a routine inspection by your utility company, they may only shut off the gas supply and notify you of the issue. Depending on the situation and your location, they probably won’t repair the leak directly. It’s typically your responsibility to hire a licensed plumber or gas technician to fix the leak.
How often should I schedule gas leak inspections for my property?
You should schedule a gas leak inspection at least once a year, especially if your gas lines are older or you’ve recently installed new appliances. If you suspect a leak or notice any unusual signs, it’s important to get an inspection as soon as possible.
Is it safe to use gas-powered appliances while waiting for a gas leak detection service?
It’s not safe to use gas-powered appliances if you suspect even a small gas leak. Using flammable gas appliances in such conditions can increase the risk of a fire or explosion. Turn off all gas-powered appliances, and leave the area until a professional can assess the situation.
