"Shon has come to help twice with two different issues I have had with my gas lines for my fire pit. Shon is trustworthy. It took me a couple months to finally call a plumber for issue #1. When issue #2 came up (completely different item), I text him that day, and he was out 2 days later and fixed it, just nice to have someone you can trust. He just did some work at a friends house and they said the experience was the same."

The weekend before Thanksgiving my wife noticed the smell of gas coming from the cabinet next to the stove. We called the gas company who came out and confirmed that we had a leak. The gas company was unable to fix the leak and let us know we needed to have a plumber come out. In the meantime they would need to shut off the gas to the stove until it was fixed. A friend had recently used Pallan Plumbing and highly recommended that we give them a call. Shon from Pallan Plumbing replied promptly and was able to get out to our house on Tuesday. He showed up on time and was very knowledgable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and was able to resolve the leak with minimal disruption to the surrounding cabinetry. Pallan Plumbing saved our Thanksgiving, and for that I highly recommend them for any plubming needs!

Our Tankless Water Heater Installation Process
Installing a tankless water heater requires more than just swapping out your old unit — it takes precise planning, proper sizing, and safe connections to both water and gas lines.
Step 1: In-Home Evaluation
- We assess your current water heating system, evaluate household demand, and determine the proper tankless unit size and model based on flow rate and usage patterns.
Step 2: Gas Line and Venting Assessment
- We inspect your existing gas supply, pressure ratings, and ventilation requirements to ensure compatibility with the new tankless system. Any necessary upgrades are discussed and planned before installation.
Step 4: Plumbing and Gas Connections
- We connect cold and hot water lines, gas supply, and, if required, a condensate drain, using only approved materials and techniques.
Step 3: Unit Placement and Mounting
- We choose the optimal indoor or outdoor location based on local code, performance, and accessibility, then securely mount the unit with all required clearances.
Step 5: System Testing, Calibration, Customer Walkthrough and Maintenance Tips
- After installation, we test all connections under pressure, verify gas combustion, calibrate temperature settings, and check for error codes. Then, we show you how to operate the system, explain maintenance schedules, and answer any questions to give you confidence with your new tankless water heater.
Curious If Tankless Water Heaters Are Right for Your Home or Business? Here’s What to Know
Endless Hot Water
Tankless units provide continuous hot water, but only up to their flow rate. You may need a larger or multiple units for simultaneous showers, laundry, or commercial use.
Space-Saving, Wall-Mounted Design
Unlike bulky tank systems, tankless models are compact and can be mounted indoors or outdoors.
Higher Initial Cost, Long-Term Savings
Installation and equipment costs are typically higher upfront, but the energy savings over time can significantly reduce utility bills.
Gas Line and Venting Requirements
Not all homes or buildings have the gas line capacity or ventilation setup needed for a tankless unit. A professional assessment is essential before installation.
Maintenance Is Still Required
Although more efficient, tankless water heaters need regular flushing and maintenance to prevent scale buildup and maintain performance, especially in areas with hard water.
Common Tankless Water Heaters We Fix
No Hot Water
- Possible Causes: Failed ignition system, clogged water filter, or flow sensor malfunction.
- Solution: Inspect ignition sequence, clean or replace filters, test and recalibrate flow sensors.
Water Temperature Fluctuates
- Possible Causes: Mineral buildup in heat exchanger, unstable gas supply, or improper unit sizing.
- Solution: Descale the unit, verify consistent gas pressure, confirm system sizing meets demand.
Error Code Displayed
- Possible Causes: Each code relates to a specific fault — Code 11 for ignition failure, Code 29 for condensate issues, Code 61 for fan malfunction, etc.
- Solution: Diagnose based on manufacturer error chart, then replace faulty part or adjust system as needed.
Low Water Pressure
- Possible Causes: Clogged inlet filter or flow restrictor, or plumbing system obstruction.
- Solution: Clean internal filters, flush system, and inspect plumbing lines for restrictions.
System Won't Power On
- Possible Causes: Tripped breaker, blown fuse, or control board failure.
- Solution: Check electrical connections, reset or replace fuses, test and replace the control board if necessary.
Unusual Noises During Operation
- Possible Causes: Air in the lines, loose components, or scale buildup.
- Solution: Bleed air from system, tighten fittings, perform descaling service to restore smooth operation.

Tankless Water Heaters
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a tankless water heater work compared to a traditional tank system?
A tankless water heater heats water only when you need it, instead of storing hot water in a tank. Cold water flows through a heat exchanger that quickly raises the temperature on demand. This means no standby heat loss and no running out of hot water.
What size tankless water heater do I need for a family of four?
Most families of four need a unit that delivers 7 to 10 gallons per minute (GPM). The exact size depends on how many appliances you run at the same time. We will help calculate your peak demand and match it with the right capacity.
Do tankless water heaters work with well water?
Yes, tankless water heaters can work with well water, but filtration is important. Sediment and minerals in untreated well water can shorten the unit’s lifespan.
How long does a tankless water heater typically last?
With proper care, a tankless water heater can last 15 to 20 years. That’s longer than most traditional tank models.
Are there electric tankless water heater options, or do they all run on gas?
Yes, electric tankless water heaters are available and ideal for homes without gas access. They’re typically smaller and best for point-of-use or lower-demand applications. For whole-home use, gas models are more common due to their higher output.
What's the difference between condensing and non-condensing tankless water heaters?
Condensing units reuse heat from exhaust gases, making them more efficient and eco-friendly. Non-condensing models are simpler but lose more heat through venting.
Are rebates or tax incentives available for installing a tankless water heater?
Depending on where you live, there may be local utility rebates or federal tax credits. Energy-efficient models with high UEF ratings often qualify. We can help you check available programs in your area.
