The weekend before Thanksgiving my wife noticed the smell of gas coming from the cabinet next to the stove. We called the gas company who came out and confirmed that we had a leak. The gas company was unable to fix the leak and let us know we needed to have a plumber come out. In the meantime they would need to shut off the gas to the stove until it was fixed. A friend had recently used Pallan Plumbing and highly recommended that we give them a call. Shon from Pallan Plumbing replied promptly and was able to get out to our house on Tuesday. He showed up on time and was very knowledgable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and was able to resolve the leak with minimal disruption to the surrounding cabinetry. Pallan Plumbing saved our Thanksgiving, and for that I highly recommend them for any plubming needs!

Shon has come to help twice with two different issues I have had with my gas lines for my fire pit. Shon is trustworthy. It took me a couple months to finally call a plumber for issue #1. When issue #2 came up (completely different item), I text him that day, and he was out 2 days later and fixed it, just nice to have someone you can trust. He just did some work at a friends house and they said the experience was the same.

Residential Sewer Camera Inspections
Residential sewer camera inspection services are for homeowners experiencing slow drains, recurring clogs, or unexplained plumbing issues. We will insert a high-resolution camera into the sewer line to identify blockages, tree root intrusion, sewer pipe cracks, or buildup without digging. By finding the exact location of the problem, we help homeowners avoid unnecessary repairs and ensure their plumbing system remains in top condition. Video pipe inspection is especially useful before purchasing a home, as they provide a clear assessment of the property’s sewer line condition.

Commercial Sewer Camera Inspections
Commercial sewer camera inspections are crucial for businesses, property managers, and industrial facilities. Unlike residential inspections, commercial sewer lines are often more complex and handle higher volumes of waste, making early detection of issues even more important. A professional camera inspection can identify hidden problems such as grease buildup, pipe collapses, and sewer line misalignments that could disrupt operations. Preventative inspections help businesses avoid costly downtime, regulatory fines, and potential health hazards caused by undetected sewer issues.

Our Sewer Camera Inspections Process
Our process is designed to be efficient, accurate, and minimally invasive.
Initial Assessment & Access Point Selection
- First, we evaluate the property's plumbing layout and look for the best entry point for the camera, typically through a cleanout or another accessible drain opening.
High-Resolution Camera Insertion
- A flexible, waterproof camera with powerful LED lighting is put into the sewer line, giving us a real-time video feed of the pipe's interior.
Process Problem Location & DOcumentation
- Using advanced locating technology, we determine the exact depth and position of any issues, preventing extensive excavation.
Detailed Inspection & Diagnosis
- Our trained technicians analyze the footage, identifying blockages, cracks, root intrusion, corrosion, or misaligned joints. We take note of any problem areas and assess their severity.
Comprehensive Report & Leak Repair Recommendations
- After the plumbing camera inspection, we provide a detailed report, complete with video footage and expert recommendations on the best course of action.
Experiencing These Sewer Line Issues? Here’s What They Mean
Slow Drains or Frequent Clogs
This could mean a buildup of grease, soap scum, or foreign objects obstructing the pipe. In older systems, it might indicate pipe scaling or corrosion.
Gurgling Noises From Drains
Unusual gurgling sounds when flushing or using the sink often signal a venting issue or an impending blockage in the main sewer line.
Foul Odors Inside or Outside the Home
A persistent sewage smell can indicate a cracked or broken pipe allowing gases to escape, or even a sewer backup in progress.
Sewage Backup or Overflow
If wastewater is backing up into drains, the main sewer line is likely obstructed by tree roots, grease buildup, or a collapsed pipe. Immediate professional inspection is necessary.
Patches of Extra Green or Soggy Grass in the Yard
This can point to an underground sewer leak, where wastewater is saturating the soil and fertilizing grass abnormally.
Common Sewer Problems Our Camera Inspections Diagnose
Tree Root Intrusion
- Possible Causes: Tree roots naturally seek moisture and can infiltrate sewer lines through small cracks or joints.
- Solution: We locate root intrusions using camera inspections and recommend solutions such as hydro jetting, root cutting, or trenchless pipe repair to restore proper flow.
Pipe Cracks, Corrosion, and Deterioration
- Possible Causes: Older pipes (especially clay, cast iron, or Orangeburg) are prone to cracking, corrosion, and eventual failure due to age and environmental factors.
- Solution: A thorough sewer line camera inspection helps us assess the damage and determine whether targeted repairs or a full pipe replacement is necessary.
Sewer Line Bellies and Misalignment
- Possible Causes: Ground shifts, soil erosion, and settling can cause pipes to develop bellies (low spots where waste accumulates) or become misaligned.
- Solution: We identify these issues and provide corrective measures.
Grease Buildup and Foreign Object Blockages
- Possible Causes: Grease, debris, and non-flushable objects can build up inside sewer pipes, restricting water flow and increasing the risk of backups.
- Solution: Our team performs sewer system camera inspections and routine maintenance.
Collapsed or Severely Compromised Pipes
- Possible Causes: Severe pipe deterioration, shifting ground, or external pressure from heavy loads can cause complete pipe collapses, resulting in a total blockage.
- Solution: We use diagnostics to confirm collapses and offer efficient replacement options, including trenchless pipe bursting, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, or traditional excavation when necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a sewer video inspection take?
A typical video camera inspection takes between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the complexity of the system. Larger or more damaged sewer lines may take longer to fully inspect.
Is a sewer camera inspection safe for all types of pipes?
Yes, sewer cameras are safe for all types of pipes, including PVC, cast iron, clay, and older materials. The process is non-invasive and does not damage the interior of the pipes.
Can sewer cameras detect sewer gas leaks?
While sewer cameras can’t directly detect gas leaks, we can notice cracks, gaps, or damaged joints where sewer gases might be escaping. If a gas leak is suspected, additional testing methods must be used for confirmation.
What's the difference between a sewer inspection and a drain snake?
A sewer camera inspection is a diagnostic tool that visually examines pipes for damage or blockages, while a drain snake is used to physically clear clogged drain. The sewer line inspection determines the cause of sewer issue, and a snake is a treatment method for obstructions.
