The weekend before Thanksgiving my wife noticed the smell of gas coming from the cabinet next to the stove. We called the gas company who came out and confirmed that we had a leak. The gas company was unable to fix the leak and let us know we needed to have a plumber come out. In the meantime they would need to shut off the gas to the stove until it was fixed. A friend had recently used Pallan Plumbing and highly recommended that we give them a call. Shon from Pallan Plumbing replied promptly and was able to get out to our house on Tuesday. He showed up on time and was very knowledgable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and was able to resolve the leak with minimal disruption to the surrounding cabinetry. Pallan Plumbing saved our Thanksgiving, and for that I highly recommend them for any plubming needs!

Shon has come to help twice with two different issues I have had with my gas lines for my fire pit. Shon is trustworthy. It took me a couple months to finally call a plumber for issue #1. When issue #2 came up (completely different item), I text him that day, and he was out 2 days later and fixed it, just nice to have someone you can trust. He just did some work at a friends house and they said the experience was the same.

Our Appliance Installation Process
Proper appliance installation is more than just plugging it in. We need to make sure water, gas, and drainage systems are safely and correctly connected.
Step 1: Site Assessment and Preparation
- We start by inspecting the installation area to confirm space, clearances, and utility access. Any necessary adjustments (like valve upgrades or drain configuration) are addressed before installation begins.
Step 2: Shut-Off and Safety Check
- Before connecting any appliance, we shut off water, gas, or power supply as needed and confirm all shut-off valves and pressure regulators are functioning properly and compliant.
Step 4: Pressure and Leak Testing
- We pressurize water and gas lines and monitor for any signs of leaks. Drain lines are tested for flow and backflow prevention.
Step 3: Secure Connection of Utilities
- Water lines, gas lines, or drain hoses are professionally connected using code-approved fittings, Teflon tape where required, and secured to prevent leaks or movement.
Step 5: Final Inspection and Function Testing
- Once the installation is complete, we test the appliance through a full cycle (as applicable). We also walk the homeowner or business owner through basic operation and maintenance points.
Is Your Appliance Set Up Correctly? Check These Warning Signs
Water pooling around or beneath the appliance
This usually points to a loose hose, poor seal, or faulty connection at the water inlet or drain.
Slow or noisy draining from dishwashers or washing machines
A slow drain often indicates an improper hose angle, air gap issue, or partial blockage.
Gas odor or faint hissing near a gas appliance
This could signal a dangerous gas leak due to a poor or unsealed connection. Immediate professional inspection is critical for safety and compliance.
Frequent tripping of circuit breakers or blown fuses
Improper grounding, overloading circuits, or incorrect electrical hookups can trigger these issues.
Visible corrosion at water connections or valves
Corrosion indicates moisture is escaping, even if no obvious leak is present.
Hot water not reaching appliances that require it
This often means the water supply lines were connected incorrectly, or valves were left shut.
Common Appliance Problems We Fix

Ice Maker Leaking or Overflowing
- Possible Causes: Misaligned water line or faulty fill valve
- Solution: Realign and secure supply line, replace defective fill valve, and test fill cycle

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of appliances require professional plumbing installation?
Any appliance that connects to your home’s water, gas, or drain lines should be installed by a licensed professional. This includes dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators with water dispensers or ice makers, gas ranges, and garbage disposals.
Can I install a dishwasher myself, or do I need a licensed plumber?
While it’s possible to install a dishwasher on your own, it’s not recommended unless you have plumbing experience. A licensed plumber provides proper drainage, water supply, and code compliance, all of which protect your home from leaks and long-term damage.
How long does it take to install a kitchen appliance with plumbing connections?
Most installations take between 1–3 hours, depending on the appliance and the condition of existing hookups. Complex installations or those requiring modifications may take longer.
Do new appliances come with all the parts needed for installation?
Not always. Many new appliances do not include supply lines, drain hoses, or fittings. Those often need to be purchased separately or provided by your installer.
What's the difference between appliance hookup and full installation service?
A basic hookup connects an appliance to existing utilities, while full installation includes preparation, parts, adjustments, and testing.
Can you install a gas stove if I already have an electric one?
Yes, but it requires more than a simple swap. We’ll need to run a gas line to the location, verify proper ventilation, and confirm local code compliance before installation.
Should water supply lines be replaced when installing a new appliance?
Yes, we always recommend new supply lines. Old or reused hoses are more likely to leak or burst, and manufacturers often require new lines for warranty protection.
Do commercial appliance installations require different permits or inspections?
In most jurisdictions, yes. Commercial setups are subject to stricter codes.
